No. Send your request through the site and we confirm availability by email or WhatsApp within 24 hours. Day tours are paid to your guide on the day; multi-day trips take a deposit on confirmation with the balance on arrival. There are no booking fees at any point.

Because we publish the real per-person rate for every group size rather than a single headline number. A private guide and vehicle cost roughly the same for two people as for six, so the per-person price falls as the group grows. The full table is on every tour page — nothing is hidden until checkout.

Yes. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before a day tour starts, and up to 14 days before a multi-day trip. Changing dates is usually free if you tell us more than 48 hours ahead and we can move the guide.

Most of our tours are private, meaning it is your group, your guide and your vehicle. A few — balloon flights, snorkelling cruises and desert safaris — are shared for practical reasons, and every tour page says clearly which it is.

Cash in USD, EUR, GBP or Egyptian pounds, or by bank transfer in advance. Card payment can be arranged on request. Prices on this site are set in USD; the currency switcher converts for display only, so the amount we quote you never moves with the exchange rate.

Around USD 8–12 per day for your guide and USD 4–6 for your driver, for a couple. It is customary rather than compulsory, and nobody will be rude about it if you tip less.

Most nationalities can buy a visa on arrival for USD 25, or apply online in advance through the official e-visa portal. Your passport must have at least six months left on it. We can handle the visa desk for you as an add-on on airport arrival transfers.

Stick to bottled water, which is cheap and everywhere. We provide it in the vehicle on every tour. Ice in reputable restaurants and hotels is made from filtered water and is fine.

October to April is comfortable across the whole country. March, April and October are the sweet spot — warm rather than hot, and noticeably quieter than midwinter. June to August is very hot in Luxor and Aswan but much cheaper, and perfectly doable with an early-start itinerary.

No. Bringing a drone into Egypt without a permit issued in advance by the Ministry of Civil Aviation is illegal, and they are routinely confiscated at customs. Do not pack one.

Tourist areas are heavily policed and serious crime against visitors is rare. The realistic annoyances are persistent vendors and traffic, not danger. Travelling with a guide removes almost all of the hassle.

Yes, with realistic expectations. Violent crime is rare; verbal harassment in busy areas is common and wearing. Travelling with a guide changes the experience dramatically, and we can assign a female guide on request at no extra charge.

Yes. Hotels catering to international visitors do not ask about marital status. This applies to foreign nationals — the rules are different for Egyptian citizens.

Often, yes, and we would rather have an honest conversation than sell you something unsuitable. Some sites — the Valley of the Kings, tomb interiors, the Mount Sinai climb — are genuinely not accessible. Many others are manageable with the right vehicle and planning. We also give 5% off to guests travelling with accessibility requirements.

Yes. Vegetarian and vegan meals are no extra charge, we just need to know in advance. Coeliac and severe allergies need more planning, particularly on a Nile cruise — tell us when you enquire and we will be straight with you about what is workable.

You get the same tour for less, because there is no 20–25% platform commission in the price. You also get a direct WhatsApp line to the people actually running your tour rather than a support queue in another country.
