Marsa Mubarak is one of a handful of places on earth where you can reliably snorkel with dugongs. They are wild animals, so nothing is guaranteed — but sightings run at roughly seven days in ten.
Strict rules apply: no touching, no flash, and you keep three metres away. Our guides enforce this, which is why the animals are still here.

Comfortable closed shoes and light layers. Sites are dusty and often unshaded, so bring a hat and sunscreen. For mosques and churches, shoulders and knees should be covered, and women should carry a scarf for their hair.
